About Jillian

Hi! I’m so happy you are here!

I have known ever since I was young that I was meant to be a healer.

I was a very intuitive kid and could sense even the slightest change in the energy of those around me. My intuition, coupled with a thirst for anatomy knowledge, made understanding and listening to the body second nature for me.

As a young healer my first instinct was to choose a career in healthcare. I dove into the world of Medical Imaging. I was fascinated by the technology and enamored by the concept that I would play an integral part in getting people the diagnosis and treatment they need. I wanted to learn about every different part of Medical Imaging from X-rays, to CT scans, mammograms, and MRIs.

After 7 years working in the field and countless hours of continued education, I still didn’t feel fulfilled. I became frustrated with seeing people in pain everyday and the number of cases that came back without explanation of that pain.

It was time To make it happen.

It seemed like everything in my life was pushing me out of this career. I wanted to understand the body better than what is seen in the images. I wanted to be challenged each and everyday with new and exciting puzzles (anatomical anomalies). I wanted a more hands on and holistic approach to healing and I wanted an explanation for why so many people have undiagnosed, unexplained and therefore untreated pain. I listened to the Universe and took the leap. I went back to school and chased a career that would fulfill me intellectually and spiritually.

Educational Background

In 2009 I graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Health Science and a Diploma in Radiologic Technology. I worked from 2009 until 2016 as an X-ray Technologist. During this time I completed my certification in Computed Technology and Mammography through the CAMRT (Canadian Association of Medical Radiologic Technologists).

When I decided to go back to school to become a Manual Osteopath, I moved to Alberta to attend the National Manual Osteopathic College (NMOC).

I completed 1952 hours of combined classroom and clinical work to earn my DOMP (Diploma of Osteopathy Manual Practitioner) license and became a member in good standing with the National Manual Osteopathic Society (NMOS).

Since graduating in 2017 I have continued my education with several advanced courses in Craniosacral therapy and Visceral Manipulation taught by the International Alliance of Healthcare Educators (IAHE).

The Bigger Picture

Osteopathy is not only a whole body approach to healing but a whole life approach. I understand that some body tension and pain can be caused by stress, unexpressed emotions, or traumas from the past. I have taken several steps to make sure I am equipped to help you through this healing journey.

These steps include “Existential Well-being Counseling: A Person-centered Experiential Approach” from KULeuvenX. Level one Healing Touch. “Unwinding the meridians” - integrating Chinese medicine principles into craniosacral therapy. And finally, I am a licensed and Integrated Medicine Woman; Certified by the New Haven Native American Church.
